Global Exporter Turns to Hydroflux for Blackwater Treatment
December 5, 2024
One of the world’s most iconic brands that exports its products to over 60 countries across the globe, has recently commissioned a blackwater treatment plant that was designed, built and commissioned by Hydroflux. The new treatment facility allows for the safe discharge of treated effluent to the environment with future augmentation that can beneficially reuse this water stream.
Given the tight discharge limits required to protect the environment, the treatment process selected included Membrane Bioreactor technology configured in the MLE process. The design allowed for removal of ammonia and phosphorous, plus dewatering of the biosolids produced from the treatment process.
As the site is in a remote location, the treatment plant was delivered in modular form to reduce site installation time.
Project Highlights
- Capacity of 45,000 litres per day
- Environmental discharge required low level treated effluent values for BOD, TN and TP
- Compact footprint due to MBR design, limited footprint onsite
- Modular system with a high level of offsite fabrication, pre-assembly and factory acceptance testing
- Remote site with limit access
- Operator training
- Complete end to end solution with local aftermarket support
